My friend recommended Melinda to me as she was the photographer for her wedding. After reviewing Melinda's website, I was determined to have her take all my wedding photos! She is very sweet, patient, flexible, and above all, professional! Her prices were amazing, which made her more irresistible! She answered all of our questions and always responded immediately to our emails. Melinda will do everything in her power to make your wedding day extra special! She took unlimited pictures at my wedding and made sure to get the important pictures I mentioned. Melinda is absolutely amazing and cares about her clients very much! My wife and I were lucky enough to retain Melinda for our wedding at the last minute. Our budget was tight, so we hadn't originally planned to have a professional photographer. Fortunately, my parents offered to give us their gift in advance, which allowed us to hire Melinda. And we're so thankful they did! 

Since we were not doing an engagement shoot, Melinda made time to meet with us in the 10 days between the wedding and when we booked her in order to ensure that we had a chance to discuss things like how we would enter for the ceremony, particular pictures we wanted, and camera angles we preferred. She was both professional and personable, and even offered some helpful tips, such as taking lots of "selfies" to practice how we wanted to smile for our photos. As a same-gender couple, the question of how we would be treated by potential vendors was frequently at the forefront of our minds during the wedding planning process. Melinda showed cultural awareness regarding the LGBT community, and made us feel totally comfortable and respected.

On our wedding day, we had a wardrobe crisis that involved a significant time delay. Upon being notified of this, Melinda immediately adapted to a new plan. She was clearly very experienced with wedding snafus, as she demonstrated tremendous flexibility and patience. She came prepared with appropriately sized lenses for the spaces. Melinda suggested a variety of poses while also leaving room to incorporate our ideas. She was professional in every way, from her attire to the way she interacted with our guests. She even jumped in to help whenever more hands were needed, above and beyond her role as our photographer.

Two and a half weeks after the wedding, Melinda sent us a "preview" of our wedding photos. Let me just say here... WOW! We were so impressed. Out of 70+, there was not a single photo we didn't love. A few days ago (in *half* the time the contract specifies), we received our full set of fully edited images in the mail, and within those we have many more favorites. One of my brothers was unable to attend the wedding, but we were able to have a very brief (30 second) Skype call on my mom's cell phone right before the ceremony. I was moved to tears upon seeing a picture of this among the final images. In a single photograph, Melinda managed to capture the small way that my brother was actually present that day. If she had been anything less than incredibly attentive, she might have missed this special moment.

Everything about the process of working with Melinda was smooth, from signing the contract to receiving our final photos. She was very responsive to all forms of communication, including text, phone, and e-mail. In short, she exceeded our every expectation. She was worth every penny of her fee. We will always be grateful that we hired a professional photographer for our wedding - and even more grateful that we chose Melinda.

We used Melinda for a maternity photo shoot and our newborn shoot, after seeing the beautiful photos she took of our brother and sister-in-law's wedding. The photos speak for themselves: they are gorgeous, creative, with a perfect eye for light, texture, color and space. You can see that for yourself on her website. What you can't see is Melinda's amazing patience and fantastic attitude. She is a miracle worker with babies... Got our little one to calm down even faster than we could ourselves. The newborn photos are absolutely scrumptious. We will treasure them forever. Thank you Melinda!

Melinda was wonderful! We had our wedding at Balboa Park in San Diego and our reception at the Marina Village, she traveled both places and took amazing photos and got all the shots I wanted. She went above and beyond to help me adjust my dress and make sure my groom didn't see me ahead of time! Overall great photographer!

I booked Melinda Lara Photography for a family shoot on-site at a pumpkin patch.  I was really impressed and inspired by her professionalism and passion!  I had never had photos taken on location and was a bit intimidated by it but Melinda really navigated the shoot with ease.  The shoot was a mix of us doing our own thing while she captured the moments and her directing and suggesting poses for us to do.  She came prepared with so many great ideas---things I had never even thought of!  Melinda has a true talent and is a great value for the work she produces.  She takes her time and is just a lot of fun to work with.  I would feel very confident recommending her to my friends and family.  I think having an annual photo shoot with Melinda Lara Photography is going to become an tradition with our family!

Wow, Wow, Wow!

I came to Melinda today to get some Boudoir pictures done, not only is she affordable, but she is fabulous in making me look absolutely beautiful. I got to see a couple teasers and am already happy with the results. She makes you feel completely comfortable and really enjoys what she does, you can see the passion she has for it as she goes for every shot possible. 

I can't wait to get my shots, in about a week, and see what I got.
